Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sense Medical Ltd (“Sense Medical”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website, sensemedical.co.nz. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

A note on clinical data. This policy covers this website only. Clinical and patient information handled within the Cortex platform is governed by our agreements with the healthcare organisations we serve, and by the health information privacy rules those organisations operate under, including the Health Information Privacy Code. Sense Medical acts as custodian of that data on behalf of our customers; you can read more on our Security & Privacy page.

What we collect

Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we collect the details you provide: your name, organisation, email address, phone number, and your message.

Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type). Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent automated abuse, which may collect device and usage information; use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.

How we use it

We use contact form information to respond to your enquiry and follow up on it. We use analytics information to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it goes

Contact form submissions are processed and delivered to us through cloud infrastructure, which may be located outside New Zealand (including Australia). Analytics and reCAPTCHA data is processed by Google. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas service provider protects personal information in a way comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.

How long we keep it

We keep contact enquiries for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, and analytics data for the retention period configured in Google Analytics.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for analytics, and browser session storage to remember display preferences within a visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. To do so, contact us or write to us at Level 2, 40 Stewart Street, Christchurch, New Zealand. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll publish the updated version on this page with a new “last updated” date.
